We welcome all Members and non Members to this event.

    Guest Speaker

    Grainne Moss
Chief Executive and Secretary for Regulation

Grainne Moss is arguably Ireland's most accomplished female open water swimmer.

At 16, she was the first female to represent Ireland in open water swimming at the World Championships.

At 17 she became the first Irish woman to swim the English Channel. She has completed 6 of the famous Oceans 7 challenges and is heading to Japan in June to attempt the final leg of this challenge.

Gráinne holds three Triple Crowns of Open Water Swimming (awarded when a swimmer has completed three of the toughest swims in any nation) - including appropriately the Irish and New Zealand Triple Crowns given she was born in Ireland and moved to New Zealand in 1998.

Outside of open water swimming Gráinne was appointed to the role of Chief Executive and Secretary for Regulation on 18 September 2024, for a five-year term.

Prior to her role as Chief Executive and Secretary for Regulation (Establishment) with the Ministry, she was Chief Executive and System Lead Pay Equity at Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission.

She served as the first Secretary of Children and Chief Executive Oranga Tamariki — Ministry for Children. She was previously Managing Director of Bupa Care Services NZ.
